Teen & Adult Group Classes
Life Skills for Teens
Yes, dogs go through a rebellious teenage phase too! Dogs between 6 months - around 1.5 years may start to look like adults, but they still need a lot of support as their brains catch up in maturity. Training for teenage dogs focuses on reinforcing the basics, boosting mental and physical exercise, and building calm self-control.
In this class we work on:
Impulse work (leave it, wait, etc.)
Coming when called
Loose-leash walking
Polite greetings (without jumping all over everyone)
You will learn how to manage your young dog’s behavior and use positive reinforcement to teach them how to be a great companion to live with.
Length: 5 weeks | Age: 6 months - 1.5 years | Price: $250
Foundations
This is our quintessential basic obedience class for dogs who need help with manners and listening when distracted.
Your dog will learn skills such as:
Sit, down, & stay
Focus
Come when called
Drop it, leave it, and more!
We also address common training struggles like nipping & play biting, jumping up on people, pulling on the leash, stealing food, and destructive chewing.
If you’ve just adopted a new dog, need to give your dog a refresher after their puppy classes, or just want to have the best behaved dog at the family reunion or cafe patio, this class is the perfect way to boost your training and bond with your dog.
Length: 7 weeks | Age: 6 months & older | Price: $200
Canine Good Citizen
If you’ve ever wanted to pursue therapy dog training, dog sports, or other advanced life skills with your dog, achieving the Canine Good Citizen title is a widely recognized first step.
In the CGC test, your dog must be able to:
Calmly greet a stranger
Walk without pulling around distractions
Stay in a sit or down position
Come back to you when called
Be briefly left with a new person
If your dog’s manners are getting there but not quite solid enough to pass the test yet, this class is your perfect next step. We will prepare you for the official AKC CGC Test, which is held at our facility on a quarterly basis.
Length: 5 weeks | Age: 10 months & older | Price: $200
We’re sorry, but our group classes do not cover behavior challenges such as severe on-leash reactivity (barking, growling, and/or lunging at others while on leash), excessive barking, separation anxiety, confinement distress, extreme fearfulness of people or dogs, or aggression. If you are experiencing any of these behaviors, please check out our Day Training or Private Training options.
